Palermo is one of the 48 neighborhoods in which the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires is divided. Located to the north of the city, its territory covers the whole of Commune 14. With 15.6 km2 of surface, it is the largest extension of the city.
It is an urban conglomerate mainly residential and leisure. Much of its extension is occupied by the so-called Bosques de Palermo, which include a sum of several parks and green spaces. It is also an important gastronomic, cultural and audiovisual center. It also has an important transport node in Puente Pacifico.
The Bosques de Palermo are located in this area, and are the green lung of the city. It is an extensive landscaped area, in one of the richest areas of the city, and in its limits it encloses a golf course, a polo field, the Galileo Galilei Planetarium, a velodrome, and the Japanese Garden, managed by the Japanese community. In addition, the old Rosedal promenade and a lake. Along the avenues that flank it there are elegant residences, embassies and apartment towers.
